The Bass Coast office has just turned two – and what a milestone to celebrate! In just a short time, the office has grown, connected with the local community, and made a real difference for clients across the region.

For Carlia, Partner and proud Wonthaggi local, opening an office in her hometown has been both exciting and rewarding. “It’s been a very welcoming experience to bring the Highview brand to Wonthaggi,” she says. “We love being active in the community by supporting local sporting clubs, meeting new people, and hosting SMSF information nights.” It’s been a chance to combine her professional expertise with her love of the area, and the response from the community has been overwhelmingly positive.

Looking back over the past two years, Carlia says the thing she’s most proud of is the progress clients have made. “It’s been very humbling to see the growth over the last two years. Seeing the results our clients have achieved and the progress their own businesses have made along the way,” she reflects.

Having been part of Highview for over 15 years, Carlia’s appointment to Partner was the result of consistent performance, leadership, and genuine client advocacy. Mentored by Co-Founder Silvio Marinelli early in her career, she progressed from Graduate Accountant to Senior Accountant and later Client Services Manager, always focused on long-term outcomes for clients and the business.

What continues to set Carlia apart is her client-first approach. “You can learn accounting at university and study to become a CPA,” she says, “but empathy, understanding and truly listening to clients… that’s what builds trust.”

The office itself has evolved steadily since day one. “On day one, it was just myself and Receptionist, Lisa figuring out the new office and getting familiar with our location,” Carlia recalls. “After two years, it’s been very rewarding to see the team grow, our services expand, and our client base increase. Not to mention feeling settled in our office. It’s great to hear feedback from clients who are thankful and appreciative of the service we provide.”

Leading a regional office brings its challenges. “The biggest learning curve has been the juggling act of time management and wearing multiple hats overseeing the office,” Carlia explains. “It’s important to ensure you have the right team members in place to assist and take some pressures away from me, allowing me to provide better service to our clients.”

Looking ahead, there’s plenty to be excited about. “The growth of the business with a growing client base and team is really exciting,” Carlia says. “It’s great to have a team who values giving proactive and supportive advice to our clients.”

Celebrating two years is about more than just a date on the calendar. It’s a chance to recognise all that has been achieved – the meaningful connections, the client successes, and the energy, dedication, and passion that Carlia brings every day. Highview Bass Coast has made a real mark in the community, and we couldn’t be prouder of what has been accomplished.

Here’s to Carlia’s achievements, and the journey still ahead!
