Increasing subsidies for mature age workers – let us outline the Federal Budget outcome in simple terms.

As a part of the 2014 – 2015 Federal Budget, the Treasurer announced that – building on the Government’s election commitment to introduce a seniors employee incentive payment – a payment of up to $10,000 will be made to employers who hire a worker who:

• is aged 50 years or over; and
• has been on income support for six months or more.

From July 1 2014, employers who hire a mature aged job seeker will receive payment instalments as follows:
