Highview was Nick’s first employer. 15 years on has seen passion, hard-work and an unrivalled focus towards client satisfaction project his career to Associate Partner in December, 2016 and then Partner in July, 2022.
Joining the team initially to complete his work experience component while in Year 10, Nick simply never left and we couldn’t feel luckier. Nick has gone from strength to strength over the years, gaining his CPA in December, 2016 and is a powerful asset to the Highview leadership team.
Nick’s at the top of his field and that’s not just coming from us! This was proven in 2019 when Nick was recognised amongst Australia’s leading accountants WINNING the ‘Public Accountant Award’ AND ‘Tax & Compliance Award’ at the Accountants Daily 30 Under 30 Awards. The finalist list for these awards featured over 120 high-achieving accounting professionals across 15 categories. Nick McPhillips was named a finalist in not one, but two categories …and won them both!
When asked ‘What’s your favourite part of the job?’ Nicks responds, “Achieving a desired result for a client – when you work with a client who has a set of goals, and you can provide detailed advice and assist them along their way to achieving those goals is incredibly rewarding. You get a great deal of satisfaction when the desired result is achieved and you get to see your client reap the rewards.”
Nick is a true team player and born leader. He has been pivotal in the growth of the Cranbourne office acting as a mentor and key trainer to many accountants over the years. His knowledge and ability to provide clarity to his clients surrounding technical information and advice comes naturally to Nick. His key strengths are in providing up-to-date advice and information about all things tax related for small and medium sized businesses. He’s always on-point with the latest legislative changes and methodical in his approach towards planning actions for his clients. Nick’s clients enjoy their interactions with him and often say that he’s purely and simply an “all round good bloke who knows his profession well”.
Guiding and supporting clients and forming long term relationships built on trust and reliability remain at the core for Nick. He’s strength is in communication and his technical knowledge’s. He is eager to continually learn and grow as a professional, build on his experience, and broaden his areas of expertise over time.
Living in his newly purchased home in Botanic Ridge with his partner Danielle, Nick’s future is filled with big bright opportunities. When he’s not crunching numbers, Nick is a strong and loyal member of the Cranbourne Football Club, keeping up his fitness with his mates weekly. To have Nick managing your files is something you can rest easy about, knowing that the right hands have you covered, not matter the situation.
